Neumade Products was founded in 1916 by Oscar F. Neu who lived in Buffalo, NY. He was, at one time, an actor in silent films. The company was incorporated in 1924 in the State of New York. Since then, Neumade has progressed from a source for film exchange and cutting room equipment to the largest manufacturer of a complete line of film handling, servicing, cleaning, storage and accessories for the motion-picture, television, education, commercial and photographic industries.

In 1986, Neumade acquires a new division with the purchase of the Xetron Corporation. Xetron Theatre Products Division, as it is now known, specializes in professional motion-picture equipment, including 16mm, 35mm, and 70mm projectors, consoles, lamphouses, Irem Rectifiers and igniters, automations, dimmers and other accessory items for motion-picture theatres.

In 1989, Neumade added overhead and opaque projectors to the audio visual products when they purchased the Kalart Victor line. In 1997, Neumade consolidated all its' operations and moved facilities from Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, Buffalo, New York and Norwalk, Connecticut into a brand new 65,000 sq.ft. building in Newtown, CT. The company is a family owned business with the third and fourth generation overseeing the entire operations.

Neumade produces more than 100 models of storage filing cabinets and racks. They are for 8mm, super-8, 16mm, 35mm, 70mm, 105mm and aerial film, as well as filmstrips, slides, cassettes, audiotape and videotape, each specially designed to provide the most efficient and practical product for a specific need. Other items manufactured by Neumade are splicers, power and hand rewinds, measuring machines, synchronizers, Neuvator cleaning machines, reels, cans, cases, Fiesta Leader in six colors for 35mm, 16mm, 8mm, super-8, and the Neutaper film splicer.

Neumade products are available to theatres through theatre supply dealers. Educational, commercial, television, and other users of Neumade products can contact their audio/visual dealer and better photographic stores or dealers of the professional film industry.

Neumade is a member of the ITEA ( International Theatre Equipment Association ), ICIA ( International Communications Industries Association ), CBIA (Connecticut Business and Industry Association) and NAM ( National Association of Manufacturers. )
